Alejandra & Marcus
One of the most beautiful things about working as a destination wedding phographer in Costa Rica, is to have the opportunity of getting to know couples from other countries. The chance for a Barcelona trip with my husband just showed and it matched with the place where a 2020 couple live, yas!! You have no idea, the location was perfect to have a engagement session, plus the wedding in Costa Rica in February 2020, we had the perfect combo between tropical and European style :) Wedding photography Barcelona engagement
One of the nicest challenges was to search for a place to have the photoshoot in Barcelona, that was intimate, without all the tourists, and that it allow us to walk freely. Besides having Alejandra and Marcuss schedule match with when I was in town, with a simple search on the internet we found this gorgeous park to have engagement sessions and weddings (there was an elopement that day, OMG) in the middle of Barcelona. It was such a lovely day, with the luck that there were just a few people around and to accomplish that intimacy and romance that Im always looking for in a couple; I loved it!
I checked the sunset hour, we figured out the schedule that best fits us, and I help Alejandra and Marcus with the clothing selection, everything came out amazing, we were able to let all the details set before my arrival to the city. Shout out to the help of GoogleMaps and the blogs that show where to travel in Barcelona, thanks a lot! Wedding photography Barcelona engagement
Always is a recommendation of mine to have a previous search of places for the photoshoots when they happen out site Costa Rica, there are beautiful spots for pictures, what happens is that many times they are full of people (in this case because it was close to La Sagrada Familia, or El Barrio Gótico by the afternoon). So, with a little research you can find incredible and accessible places. Also, get in touch with a local photographer or someone who lives in town could be of great help.
Is very important to know the exact hour of the sunset and the sunrise. I have to admit that the sunset and sunrise lightning in Spain lasts longer than here Costa Rica so because of that, we had more time to have the photoshoot. And of course, the dates for the weather seasons are more precise than in Costa Rica; that works as an advantage for us, to determine exactly when the season changes, and to know when to have the engagement session.
I can say that the cherry on top of the pie was definitely spending the afternoon together, with such a sweet couple like Alejandra and Marcus; they decided to have their wedding here in Costa Rica, here where they first met and also a great location to have all their guests come together. So it was awesome to have that beautiful moment with them, taking photos of them in my country and also in Barcelona where they studied and live, and besides getting to know them before the wedding, one of the most professional fulfilling experiences.
